Bengay is an over the counter medication used to relieves the minor aches and pains of muscles and joints associated with back pain, sprains, strains and arthritis in adults and children 12 years and older.

It is a single product containing 3 ingredients: camphor, menthol, and methyl salicylate. These ingredients belong to a group of drugs called topical analgesics. These work by blocking the perception of pain.

This medication comes in a cream and is usually applied 3 to 4 times daily.

Common side effects of Bengay include minor cold or burning sensation.
