(RxWiki News) Are you looking for a natural supplement that can improve heart health? Researchers found Pycnogenol - pine extract - to be beneficial for patients who suffer heart failure.

"Go natural with Pycnogenol for better heart health management."
Chieti-Pescara University in Italy held a 12-week study that included 53 patients who have been diagnosed with heart failure and moderate hypertension (high blood pressure). Participants were between the ages of 54 and 68.
The participants were separated into two groups where one took the combined Pycnogenol and Coenzyme Q10 (PycnoQ10), and the others took a placebo - in addition to their individual heart health medications.
At the end of the study, participants in the PycnoQ10 group had more improvements in blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate than the placebo group. Blood pressure (systolic and diastolic pressure) in PycnoQ10 group went from 139.2 to 133.2 mmHg and 82.3 to 77.3 mmHg. The heart rates for PycnoQ10 dropped from 78.4 to 74.2 beats per minute.
This study was able to confirm the results of other studies on PycnoQ10 by showing decreased blood pressure and heart rate along with increased physical ability.
The research is published in Panminerva Medica.
