Trimethobenzamide is a prescription medication used to treat nausea and vomiting that may occur after surgery or due to the stomach flu. Trimethobenzamide belongs to a group of drugs called antihistamines. These work by reducing activity in the area of the brain that causes nausea and vomiting.

This medication comes in capsule form and is typically taken 3 or 4 times a day.

This medication is also available in an injectable form to be given directly into a vein (IV) by a healthcare professional.

Common side effects of trimethobenzamide include blurry vision, diarrhea, disorientation, and dizziness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how trimethobenzamide affects you.
