Injectable:

Versed in a prescription medication used to prevent anxiety, cause sedation, and amnesia before medical procedures. Versed is also sometimes used along with anasthesia during proceudres to induce sleep. Critically ill patients in an ICU setting are sometimes given Versed to keep them comfortable and sedated.

Syrup:

Versed syrup is a prescription medication used in children to prevent anxiety, cause sedation, and amnesia before medical procedures.

Injectable:

Versed has been associated with respiratory depression and respiratory arrest, especially when used for sedation in noncritical care settings. Use only in settings that can provide for continuous monitoring of respiratory and cardiac function. The initial dose and all subsequent doses should always be titrated slowly. Versed injection should not be administered by rapid injection in the neonatal population as severe hypotension and seizures have been reported.
