Dr. Ronald E. de la Peña is a board-certified gynecologist practicing exclusively in Thousand Oaks, California. He has over 27 years of medical experience, and his mission is to provide the highest quality care in women’s health.  He practices on the campus of the Los Robles Hospital and Medical Center, and has privileges at Los Robles Hospital, Thousand Oaks Surgical Hospital, and Los Robles SurgiCenter. He is a graduate of Stanford University and graduated from the Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Dr. de la Peña was the Los Robles Hospital Chairman of the Ob-Gyn Department from 2000 to 2004 and Chairman of the Quality Care Committee in 2011. He is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. His scope of training includes gynecology, obstetrics, infertility, menopause and primary care for women. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery and uses the latest advances in equipment and techniques to maximize comfort and rapid recovery.

In office, Dr. de la Peña performs telescope evaluations of abnormal uterine bleeding. This helps to rapidly identify and confirm the source of bleeding, which can result in non-hysterectomy treatments. Dr. de la Peña’s obstetrical practice is notable for specializing in high-risk patients who seek a vaginal birth after a Cesarean. Lastly, his comprehensive care targets a woman’s mind, body and spirit in a balanced approach to healing and wellness.

Each woman is unique, and her care is designed specifically to her. Dr. de la Peña listens to each patient’s concern and maps a custom course of care. Well-woman exams concentrate on gynecology issues, while reviewing organ systems head to toe. He teaches breast exams and an overview of reproductive organ function. His care assesses thyroid function, cardiovascular function, lung, intestinal, and bladder function, as well as cholesterol treatment, vaccinations, contraception, acquired infections, and excision of skin tags and moles. In 2006, he performed the first Essure in Ventura county, and enthusiastically promotes it as the safest, most reliable permanent contraceptive method. In 2013, he brought Her Option to the community. Her Option is the only FDA approved freeze endometrial ablation procedure to manage heavy menstruation. He is the only gynecologist in Thousand Oaks to offer both Essure and Her Option in office.
