Sarna Original is an over the counter medication used to relieve the itch associated with general itching, dry skin, insect bites, sunburn and poison ivy/oak/sumac, and because it’s steroid free, it’s safe to use daily. 

It is a single product containing 2 medications: menthol and camphor. 

Sarna Original belongs to a group of drugs called antipruritics. Together these work to temporarily relieve pain as well as cool and soothe itch.

This medication comes in a lotion and is applied to the skin as needed.

Common side effects of Sarna Original include mild itching, burning or stinging.
