Medial Collateral Ligament (MCL) Injuries

The MCL is a large ligament that spans from the inner knee to the shinbone. MCLs are often injured by a strong force hitting the outside of the knee. The pain of this injury can vary, so don’t rule out an MCL tear if there is only mild pain accompanying the initial injury.
