5 Common Football Injuries
The meniscus are two cushion-like pieces of cartilage between the thighbone and shinbone. Most commonly injured in contact sports, the meniscus can be torn when twisted at an odd angle. A torn meniscus can be accompanied by other knee injuries, such as a torn ACL. A popping noise is also common with a meniscus tear, along with pain and swelling. If you notice these symptoms, a visit to the hospital may be in order.
