All About Breast Cancer

Diagnosis

If you’ve experienced any breast cancer symptoms and are preparing to visit your doctor to discuss them, knowing the types of tests used to diagnose breast cancer may ease some of your anxiety. The first test your doctor will perform will be a basic breast exam, also called a general screening. Your doctor will examine both of your breasts and lymph nodes in the armpits feeling for abnormalities or lumps. If a lump is found, you may be asked to have a mammogram, breast ultrasound, biopsy and/or breast MRI testing.
