Balancing Life with Lupus
The first new drug for lupus in 50 years, Benlysta, has now been approved by the FDA. Because of the success of Benlysta, there is now an increased interest from pharmaceutical companies to develop more drugs to treat lupus. Benlysta blocks the activity of a certain protein in patients with lupus. Side effects may include nausea, diarrhea and fever.
