The Best Things You Can Do for Your Heart

Get Enough Sleep

Do you spend the day yawning? Not getting enough sleep might affect more than just your productivity at work or school. How do you know if you’re getting enough sleep? When you wake up, you should feel refreshed, not compelled to hit the snooze button a few more times. Most adults need seven to nine hours of sleep each night. People who don’t get enough sleep are at a greater risk of obesity, high blood pressure and heart disease, among other health problems. If you’re not sleeping enough, try setting a sleep schedule and sticking to it. Go to sleep and wake up at the same time every day, and keep your room dark and quiet at night so you can fall asleep easily. If you still have problems sleeping, talk to your doctor.
