Celeb Moms Who Give Back to Health

JK Rowling

JK Rowling wrote her widely famous Harry Potter series as a single mother. The fantasy series has broken earning and publishing records, selling over 450 million copies worldwide. She has since remarried and added two more children to her family. Rowling supports many charities and foundations and has also started her own, Lumos, which works to end the neglect and abuse of children. She released a book based on the Harry Potter series, The Tales of Beedle the Bard, in 2008 and donated all proceeds to Lumos. The proceeds from her other two Harry Potter-related books also went to a charity organization, Comic Relief, which raises money to aid the homeless and provide disaster relief. In 2000, Rowling established the Volant Charitable Trust, which combats poverty, social inequality and multiple sclerosis research.
