Acne is one of the most common dermatological conditions, affecting millions of young adults worldwide — and celebrities are no exception. A-list actor Brad Pitt was plagued with acne in his teens and turned to dermabrasion (a type of skin-resurfacing procedure) to avoid scarring. Acne can produce blackheads, whiteheads, papules (a raised swelling that doesn’t produce pus), pustules (commonly known as pimples), cysts (pore fills up with bacteria) and nodules (hard bumps under the skin’s surface). Acne can appear on the face, back, chest, neck, shoulders, upper arms and buttocks.
