Phil Mickelson: Psoriasis/Psoriatic Arthritis

While he was preparing for the 2010 US Open, golf superstar Phil Mickelson’s joints unexpectedly started aching. After being tested, he was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis (PsA). This form of arthritis affects some people with psoriasis. Most people often develop psoriasis first and go on to experience joint problems later, but sometimes these conditions follow an opposite pattern. Mickelson is now back on the course, and speaking out about psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. Mickelson will have both conditions for the rest of his life, as currently neither has a cure, but there are many medications and lifestyle changes that can help manage these conditions.
