Cholesterol 101
According to the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, pizza and cheese are the biggest food sources of saturated fat in the US. Saturated fats raise levels of bad (LDL) cholesterol in the blood.
The majority of foods high in saturated fat come from animal sources, such as meat and dairy products. Examples may include: fatty beef, lamb, pork, poultry with skin, lard and butter, cream, cheese, and other dairy products made from whole or 2 percent milk.
