Dehydration can cause bad breath. Dehydration causes a decrease in saliva production, which may cause odorous bacteria to build up. But staying hydrated means you may not need those mints after all. Drinking plenty water can help prevent bad breath and also help loosen any food particles trapped in the teeth after meals.
