Eliminate the Pain of Raking Leaves
Any twisting motion while carrying a heavy load will place stress on your back. Instead, use your legs to shift your weight. When you reach to pick something up, bend at the knees, not at your waist. Keep your back straight while your rake to again avoid that twisting motion. Finally, avoid throwing bags of leaves over your shoulder or to the side — this twisting motion can strain your back.
