Enterovirus D68 — What Parents Need To Know
Enterovirus infection spreads from person to person through contact with mucus, saliva or stool from an infected person. Infection can also spread via contaminated surfaces. According to the CDC, because infections with enteroviruses are most common during the summer and fall in the US, many instances of a "summer cold" are likely related to these infections.
