Wayne Gretzky, one of the greatest hockey players to ever step on the ice, was diagnosed with osteoarthritis shortly after retirement from the National Hockey League (NHL) in 1999. Apart from holding or sharing over 60 NHL records, Gretzky — also known as The Great One — is a generous supporter of charities like the Arthritis Society of Canada.
