Foods to Avoid During Pregnancy
Vegetable sprouts are found in everything from salads to pad thai, but they might not be the best choice during pregnancy. While most bacteria on raw veggies and fruits is easily washed off, bacteria often gets inside of a sprout’s shell before it begins to grow, making it almost impossible to remove. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends never eating sprouts raw and cooking them thoroughly to reduce the risk of illness.
