Frequently Asked Questions About Erectile Dysfunction

How is ED Diagnosed?

A review of a patient’s medical history is usually required to diagnose and treat erectile dysfunction, since several medical and personal factors can contribute to it. The patient may have to undergo physical or lab tests to help define the problem. For example, a poor pulse may indicate poor circulation, which could contribute. Or, if a man has enlarged breasts, he may have improper levels of certain hormones. Lab tests may also identify hormonal problems like low testosterone or diseases that could cause ED.
