Pneumonia

Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs that can cause mild to severe illness in people of all ages. It can cause coughing, fever, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, shortness of breath and even death. According to the CDC, pneumonia is the leading cause of death in children younger than 5 worldwide. The pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PVC) protects against several strains of pneumonia. Common side effects of the vaccine include loss of appetite, drowsiness, fever, irritability and redness, swelling or tenderness of the injection site.
