The Health Risks of Kissing

Puppy Kisses

Let’s say you’re single this Valentine’s Day and you have a date with a good chick flick and your best friend Fido. Well, make sure you don’t smooch too much with your dog. Just like humans can transfer bacteria to each other via kisses, our pets can transfer bacteria to us. Health experts at Harvard University say saliva from cats and dogs may contain a number of diseases. Even if the pet doesn’t show symptoms, once you come into contact with the bacteria, you can contract a disease. These diseases include rabies, meningitis and flu-like ailments. If you can’t resist wet puppy kisses, make sure your animal is under the regular care of a vet.
