How to Prevent the Spread of HIV
Using a water or silicone based lubricant with a latex condom during vaginal sex can prevent irritation and lower the chances of the condom breaking. However, oil-based lubricants should not be used with latex condoms. Oil-based products such as hand lotion, Vaseline or Crisco can weaken the condom and cause it to break.
