Over the long term, a moderate to high frequency of sexual intercourse has been correlated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease and events like stroke and heart attack. Not only is sex a physical activity which can help lower the risk of cardiovascular disease itself, the frequency of sex suggests increased social support and decreased stress which can also play a role in heart disease risk.
