How Sex Affects Your Health
A yeast infection (YI) occurs when a fungus commonly found in small amounts in the vagina becomes widespread, often as a result of antibiotic treatment for condition like UTIs. YI isn’t an STD, however many symptoms of the infection such as rash, swelling, pain and vaginal discharge mimic those of an STD and can interrupt sex life. Talk with your doctor if you notice unusual genital symptoms.
