Pets May Be Good for Heart Health

In a 2012 study on 240 married couples in which half owned pets and the other half didn't, those who owned pets had a lower heart rate and blood pressure. A comprehensive review by the American Heart Association concluded that “pet ownership, particularly dog ownership, is probably associated with decreased cardiovascular disease risk.”
