Managing ADHD with Medication
It’s important to keep an eye on your child or teen for signs of medication abuse. Increasing numbers of teens and young adults abuse their (or others’) ADHD medications as a study aid, to lose weight, improve athletic performance, to party longer or simply to get high. Parents can make sure their children and teens aren’t abusing their prescriptions by keeping track of their child’s pill consumption. Don’t rely only on information from your child. Keeping a close eye on pill consumption can help ensure teens are using them safely and not putting themselves or others at risk.
