Cherries have long been a folk remedy for osteoarthritis (OA) and gout, but now scientific research has shown that eating 10 or more cherries a day may protect gout patients from symptom flare-ups. Research has also shown that cherries may help improve pain, stiffness and physical function in those with OA.
