Salmon and other fatty fish like mackerel and albacore are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3s can reduce joint pain and morning stiffness in those with arthritis. Some research has shown that omega-3s may enable arthritis patients on certain medications to lower their dosage or stop taking those medications altogether.
