Things You Can Do Today to Feel Better Tomorrow
Green tea has been used for centuries for its many health benefits. The health benefits we see are largely due to the antioxidants found in tea. Besides being used to improve thinking and mental alertness, green tea has also been used for weight loss and stomach disorders, Crohn’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, diabetes and heart disease. Some of tea’s properties may be even more powerful than vitamins C and E in halting oxidative damage. Research also has shown that green tea may fight solid tumor cancers. Although green tea is relatively safe to drink, people with heart conditions should be cautious, as the caffeine may cause irregular heartbeat. Also, those with irritable bowel syndrome may find that the caffeine in green tea worsens diarrhea and other symptoms. Green tea may interact with some prescription medications, so be sure to check with your pharmacist before including it in your diet.
