Tips for a Healthy Thanksgiving Dinner
Considering all of the nutrients packed into sweet potatoes, it is easy to understand why some people consider them to be one of nature’s super foods. They are full of vitamins A, C and B-6 — plus potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron and manganese. The Cleveland Clinic reports that sweet potatoes can help your eye health, immune system, blood pressure, blood cells, bones, metabolism and more. Slice up your raw sweet potatoes, toss them with a little olive oil and bake. If it just won’t be Thanksgiving without a little added sweetness, try making a simple glaze with brown sugar and honey — but pass on the marshmallow topping!
