The Truth About Hangover Cures

Myth: A Hard Workout

Exercise can both help and hurt your hangover. It won’t help your body metabolize alcohol faster, but it does release endorphins, which may be why some people claim their hangovers seem to get better after a workout. Endorphins are those feel-good hormones secreted within the brain and nervous system that cause a pain-relieving effect. However, if you aren’t properly hydrating, exercise can make you feel worse since your body will likely lose additional fluids, contributing to your dehydration.
