Wine Not? The Health Benefits of Red Wine
One study from Loyola evaluated cognitive function of two groups: participants ages 18 to 50 and participants over 55. The researchers found that light to moderate drinking may not impair cognition in the long term, and may even reduce the risk of dementia. These benefits included all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease and unspecified forms of dementia. Red wine was also found to have more positive cognitive effects than beer or other spirits.
