Vexol Overview

Updated:

Vexol is a prescription medication used to treat inflammation in the eye after surgery. It is also used to treat a condition in the eye called anterior uveitis.

Vexol belongs to a group of drugs called corticosteroids. These work changing the way your immune system works to reduce inflammation.

This medication comes as an eye drop and is usually used 4 times daily for 2 weeks after surgery.

When treating anterior uveitis, Vexol is applied in the affected eye every hour during waking hours for the first week, then every two hours during waking hours for the second week, and then tapered off.

Common side effects of Vexol include eye discharge, discomfort, and itching.

Vexol can also cause blurred vision. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how Vexol affects you.
