Research has suggested that eating at least a bit of apple a day may reduce levels of C-reactive protein (CRP) in the blood. CRP is a marker of inflammation, which plays a role in a host of diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, various other forms of arthritis and cardiovascular diseases like atherosclerosis.
